Assam’s Majuli, the largest river island in the world. the floating Loktak lake of Manipur, the Gurudongmar Lake of Sikkim, at an altitude of nearly 18,000 feet, the Madhuri Lake of Arunachal Pradesh where the 1995 Bollywood film Koyla was shot, Tripura’s Rudrasagar Lake famous for the “Neermahal” palace and the most beautiful Umiam lake of Meghalaya.

National Parks

The Kaziranga National Park has been acclaimed by UNESCO World Heritage Site for having a large species of major mammals like the Royal Bengal tiger, wild elephants, leopard, water buffalo etc Manas National Park, Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary etc are others to add to this list

The Majestic Waterfalls and Surreal Valleys

The Nohsngithiang Falls or the seven sisters falls, the Nohkalikai Falls, one of the tallest falls and the Elephant Falls of Meghalaya. The three-tiered Triple Falls of Nagaland, the two-tiered Vantawng Falls of Mizoram, Kanchenjunga Falls of Sikkim are sure to enthral anyone with its lovely panoramic appeal.

The enchanting valleys have also caught the travellers’ fancy and road trips in these valleys can give them the most sublime landscapes. The best examples are Dzukou Valley of Nagaland which has become a favourite spot for the trekking enthusiasts and the exotic Yumthang Valley in Sikkim famous as the “Valley of flowers”.
